Getting Started

They say that the beginning of a relationship is always the sweetest time. Getting to know the other person, trying to disguise your bad habits whilst digging around for theirs. The shy glances and quick kisses and butterflies fluttering in your tummy every time you see them walk towards you. Believing you have found 'the One' after the first couple of weeks of dating and gushing about how gorgeous he is to your girlfriend or how sexy she is to your mates in the pub.

They also say that you will have your rocky moments, ones that will shake your ship from the dock and toss you from wave to wave until you feel like you will capsize. But that same person will either sink you or bail you out and set the course of true love back on the right track. I have been lucky so far. I've been bailed out more times than you can imagine, but equally as such I've held the bucket and heaved a few pails full of water out of the stern myself. My fiance and I have quickly realised the importance of being able to rely upon and trust one another. Knowing that if I fail in something, he will pick me up and place me back on my feet to get back in the race is such a warm feeling inside that it really cannot be replaced.

This process can be found in other types of relationships too, like friendships and family relations. You have your ups and down and when you're hurtling down that rollercoaster you feel your stomach fall through your feet and sometimes you wonder if you're going to complete the dip and come up the other side. It's all part of the prolonged torment of life. But if I'm honest, I wouldn't swap any of it.

So the point of this blog? This is the start of another relationship, a virtual one. One that involves my imagination, my laptop and a working set of typing fingers. I hope that you readers enjoy reading my blogs as much as I'm sure I'm going to enjoy writing them. :)
